Customer questions & answers

Question:

Which tea is good for weight reduction? Is Oolong tea better than Green tea?

Answere:

Teas are of four basic types: Black, Green, Oolong and White. Oolong teas are quite popular for their weight reduction properties. These are better than Green teas when it comes to weight reduction. Oolong teas are considered to be quite premium also, and taste far better than Green tea.

Question:

How effective are Oolong teas for weight reduction?

Answere:

There are numerous articles on internet highlighting research work and user experiences around Oolong teas. There is limited scientific data to quantify the weight loss solely on account of use of Oolong teas. In general, Oolong teas are widely accepted as the best teas for weight reduction all throughout the world.

Question:

Are there different varieties of Oolong teas? How do we select a good quality of Oolong tea?

Answere:

The quality of Oolong teas depends upon many factors. Darjeeling Oolong teas have good aroma, and are considered to be best within Indian Oolong teas. Organically produced Oolong tea is better as no chemicals and pesticides are used in the production process. Teas produced during March – May time-frame (1st and 2nd Flush) have better aroma in comparison to teas produced post monsoon. Premium pluck teas comprise of only top bud and two leaves. Our Darjeeling Oolong Classic teas have best of all these quality factors.

Question:

Can these Oolong teas be used multiple times?

Answere:

Budwhite Darjeeling Oolong Classic teas are made of Whole Leaf teas which open up slowly while being brewed, and release their extracts slowly. As a result, Whole Leaf tea leaves don’t release all these extracts in first brewing. These tea leaves are meant to be used 2-3 times over 6-8 hours. You can leave tea leaves in tea infuser, or in kettle after straining the tea. Increase steeping time by 30 sec – 1 minute for subsequent brewing.

Question:

Are these Oolong teas available only in loose form, or are these available in teabag form also?

Answere:

These are available in pyramid teabag packs also. Whole leaf teas don’t come in conventional filter paper dip teabags as tea leaves require a lot of space to unfurl when put in hot water. Filter paper teabags don’t allow such space. Pyramid teabags are quite premium, and a bit costly too. However, since these teas are meant to be used 2-3 times, the cost/cup comes down to less than Rs 10/cup.

Question:

Can Oolong teas be combined with herbs like Garcinia Cambogia to accelerate weight reduction?

Answere:

Oolong tea is best taken in it’s pure form to relish it’s taste and aroma. Garcinia Cambogia and other herbs like Cinnamon, Ginger, Coleus also help in weight reduction. When herbs are blended with teas, herbs dominate the taste. Therefore, herbs are typically blended with Green teas as the aroma of Oolong tea is anyway compromised. It is best to have these as two separate teas (pure Oolong and Herbal Green tea), and you can alternate between the two.
